Cover Art Reveal: Sacrifice

Cue the music, Champions, I have the cover art for Snow Queen book 2: Sacrifice!

SnowQueenBook2Final

Sacrifice is nearly ready to go! Editor #1 is doing a final read through to make sure everything is in tip top condition. (She’s been an absolute doll about the final read through. Thanks to some unexpected timeline hiccups with editing, she got it very late, but she’s squeezing it into her schedule anyway. Thank you Jeri!) If all goes well I should be able to get Sacrifice launched before 2/29, but I’ll let you all know the moment I have it going up.ย  Okay, details aside, let’s talk covers!

Sacrifice marks the first time a male character graces the cover of a Timeless Fairy Tale! If you haven’t guessed yet, the hooded character is none other than Colonel Farrin Graydim of the Chosen Army. Myrrhlynn (my cover artist) spent a long time choosing the picture to use for Farrin–she specifically wanted a male holding a sword–but she’s known since I released Heart of Ice that she wanted to put Farrin on book 2’s cover. Sacrifice, just like Heart of Ice, has a cover made of multiple layers. (The model, the snow, and the background.) Thankfully, cutting Farrin out was much easier than cutting out Rakel for Heart of Ice. Rakel’s dress cuffs were fur lined, so she had to cut out the fur and then re-fluff it. She’s been working on this over several weeks, so it’s been a lot of fun to see the cover taking shape piece by piece. Thanks for all your hard work, Myrrhlynn!

Finally, I’m confirming early that I’m holding my usual read/unlock goodies special. If you look in my top post, you’ll see what shorts I’ll be releasing at what conditions. Yes, the last short is finished…I’m just having problems figuring out a not-lame title. Titles are very stressful to choose for me, hahah.

That’s all for today, Champions. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for reading!

  1. I read your post and I literally stood up and danced briefly (in private, of course) I love the title and especially the cover! ;)I can’t wait until Sacrifice comes out! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I’m so thrilled my post could stir such joy in you! ๐Ÿ™‚ Hopefully Sacrifice proves to be worth the wait–but I’ve got a huge thing for Farrin so I can’t say I’m unbiased judge.

    • I’m glad you like it! Myrrhlynn did a great job choosing the picture. Whenever she asks me for input in looking at pictures of people for the covers, I’m usually like “That looks like a really uncomfortable outfit.” There’s a reason why she’s the cover-artist and I’m a writer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • No kidding! And whenever they wear all the spikes and chains and stuff, that would be heavy! Forget a sword fight–just lure them into a lake or something and they’ll sink like a boat anchor.

  2. I have been checking your site every day for over a week waiting for news of this book!!!! So excited! Myrrhlynn did an amazing job and I cannot wait for it to be out!

    • I’m glad you like the cover! I was wondering what you all would think of Myrrhlynn putting a guy on the cover, so I’m happy it seems to be well received. Also, good news–which I’m about to go announce via a post–Sacrifice should be out Friday, 2/26! I hope you’ll find it worth the wait!

  3. Awesome!!!!! Soooo excited!!!! I have been stalking your site since I first started reading your books!!! Thank you so much for keeping it clean its something I wish more authors would keep in mind. I’m in my 20s and it’s hard finding inspiring clean and thoughtful reads.

    PS I meant visiting… Kind of…๐Ÿ˜‚

    • High five for similar reading tastes! (I tend to read YA because it is usually cleaner.) I’m so happy you’ve enjoyed my stories–hopefully you’ll find Sacrifice just as entertaining as the others. Thanks for reading, and thank you for the message!

    • I’m glad to hear it! I was wondering what you all would think of Myrrhlynn putting a guy on the cover, so I’m happy it seems like everyone loved it.

    • Yeah, Myrrhlynn did a bang-up job! (I love looking at the covers on full screen mode on my computer. I have a paperwhite so they don’t look quite as impressive on my Kindle.)
