Sometimes I can’t leave a book alone. Whether it be for a contests, reader bribes, or personal satisfaction, I will occasionally write extra content for a book I’ve already finished. Rather than hog the content, I decided to share it with you. Thank you, Champions, for reading my work!

    • Absolutely love the freebies!!! I keep hearing about this Sole princess that sounds like sleeping beauty and the other countries in the Timeless Fairytales series. Are you going to write about them? (Because I absolutely loved that series)

    • Hi Chloe, I update the freebies section pretty sporadically, although I JUST updated it today with a Timeless Fairy Tale themed short story.

  1. I thoroughly enjoy your writing. I really hope that you will finish the King Arthur and Red Rope series. Please. πŸ™‚

    • It is my pleasure to tell you that King Arthurs #4 is the next book that I will tackle! I hope to have it out in late January/early February.

  2. Thanks for the new MBRC freebie. I have to say though, without spoiling anything, that I’m extremely disappointed in the next Pooka. I really loved Devin’s personality, and I don’t think it works the other way around, you know? Oh well… bummer.

    • Thanks Kristin, I forgot I posted it in a docx format. I went and swapped it over to the PDF file, so you should have better luck with this one!

  3. Just read MBRC short and loved it!!! I laughed so hard when Morgans daughter said that joke. Please keep them coming, I’m waiting on pins and needles to see what happens next πŸ˜€

  4. I abousulosty love all of your freebies there amazing I luv the princess ahira book so if you could do a freebie on that I would love you even more than I do now which isn’t possible please and thank you

    • Hi Mandy, the original freebie I made for Princess Ahira is actually the short story that is included in the back of the book. My editor and coverartist liked it so much they told me I needed to include it in the story! I’m a little booked up right now, but I am hoping to revisit Ahira’s world–whether it be through a short story, or a new book! Thanks for reading!

  5. I absolutely love your King Arthur series! I love how the drabble was a little insight into Kay’s mind! Can’t wait for book four πŸ™‚

  6. Out of all the shorts, which I do love, the unicorn procession takes the cake. It’s the perfect mix of sarcasm, randomness, and medevial mythical flair to be oddly entertaining.
    – on that note any life reader exerpt is fabulous

    • I’m glad you enjoyed it! I was a little apprehensive when I first uploaded it because it doesn’t go with any of the worlds my books take place in and it was meant to be a silly bit of fun. Also, high five for Life Reader friends!

    • I’m happy you’ve enjoyed my books and like the freebies! πŸ™‚ Might I suggest you check in with the website every few months? I put up new freebies every once in a while.

    • Ok, will do. Thank you! I am going to enjoy getting to know you. I already enjoy your books. I must say, I admire your talent. Thank you, again.

  7. Your freebies are great! You really have me interested in the one about the My Life at the MBRC, the one in the future where Morgan is the Co-Administrator of the MBRC. Can you write another one??? It would be awesome!

    • I’m glad you like them! There will be more MBRC freebies coming this year–although I don’t have a release timeline sketched out just yet. πŸ˜‰

  8. I love your freebies and books! I am a sucker for fairy tale romances, and yours are the best!
Is the Alliance short story a foreshadowing of where you think the Timeless series will go? If so, I am looking forward to it even more!

    • Hi Monika, yes, The Alliance Short Story was crafted to show what the continent as a whole is doing while the characters go through their trials. I am determined to get a few companion pieces up this year so you can see what everyone is up to, but I don’t have a release timeline in mind, so it might be a while. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the future short stories just as much!

  9. Ooh i really loved a twisted tale! I hope you do a longer version one day. It has potential to be a really good full length novel!

    • I’m glad you liked it! πŸ™‚ The Sisters were so much fun to characterize–and Joan was a real stitch to write as well!

  10. I would love to more about what happened to Arion & Tari from Red rope of Fate! Those two were amazingly funny and lovable.

    • I’m glad you liked them so much! The only freebie I have for them is already included in the book (Their wedding) IF you bought it in the past year. If you got a copy before 2014 the wedding bit is in the above freebies. πŸ™‚

  11. Hi, new reader here but love the freebies! Just asking though are there any more short stories not on this page because I kept on seeing references of bonus chapters from other peoples’s replies

    • Welcome to the crew, Cecily! Yes, there are a few extras that aren’t listed here–yet! I update this page several times a year with “gift” freebies–I write free short stories for holidays, like Christmas, Easter, or Father’s Day, and I’ll announce them on this site and all my social media–but I also have Read & Review specials, like the one currently going on for Enlighten, which you can read about on the front page. I’ll offer those specials for roughly a month, and then the chapter sits for about two months before I upload it onto the freebies section. As I mentioned, currently I’m running the special for Enlightened, and the extra story for The Little Selkie is on its cool down period. You can expect to see it pop up in about a month.

    • Yes! Unfortunately my writing schedule is a little swamped right now–I’m committed to finishing the King Arthurs series in 2016–but I’m hoping to return to Saint Cloud library in 2017. πŸ™‚

  12. Could you do a short story about Britt before she traveled back in time? I mean, we don’t even know her sister’s name… Please…

I’m a huge fan of your books, and I can NOT wait for the next one.

Also: random pointless question: How do you like to eat your waffles?

    • I do have plans for you to eventually see some of Britt’s modern life, but that won’t happen until 2016. πŸ™‚

As for Waffles I LOVE waffles smothered with strawberries and whipped cream! They are one of the best breakfast foods ever!!

  13. I ADORE these freebies. Write more…but find time for books too. I cannot decide whether I like these or books more. They are both so good.

    • The freebies vs books are very different to write, but I have fun doing them, too! I think my favorite thing is that just because the book is over, doesn’t mean the character has to be gone forever. πŸ™‚

      • Yeah, but for me, its that the story continues. I daydream about your stories, adding extra chapters, just in my head. Adding these freebies lets me make up more chapters. It broadens the view, so to speak.

  14. For some reason, I am unable to open the link of the beauty and the beast short story. It says it’s not a valid PDF document. However, I am completely enjoying all your other unconventional fairy tale adaptations. I love the characters and the plots. You’re doing a spectacular job. Thank you so much πŸ™‚

    • Yikes, I had deleted the original file and uploaded a new copy, but it looks I forgot to update the link. Thank you for letting me know! Thank you for reading–I hope my stories continue to entertain you. πŸ™‚ (The link should be fixed by now!)

    • There IS a Life Reader sequel floating around my head, unfortunately it’s pretty low on the priority list. Next year my big push will be to finish the King Arthurs series and release at least three Timeless Fairy Tales. There WILL be a sequel eventually though–that story is too near and dear to my heart to let it go. πŸ˜‰

    • Yikes, sorry Rosa, I don’t know how but I missed your comment! Anyway, you haven’t seen the last of Toril and Linnea. πŸ˜‰ They will be in a few extras–including one for Heart of Ice!

  15. You continue to amaze and entertain, with your well written stories I continue to eagerly await each new release, I am pleased to say the I have had the extreme pleasure of reading every book you’ve written and enjoyed each with fresh enthusiasm, I love your take on all the adventures we’ve gone on, and truly cannot wait for more. I love your freebies as much as the main novels and find myself hard put to save them till after I’ve finished the books they’re about, but not being a big fan of spoilers and no idea what they may reference, I enjoy saving them for after, and feel like they are wonderful gifts that lessen the book hangovers that always come after finishing a wonderful masterpiece, so just saying again thank you for sharing, truly, I personally am very very very glad that you have chosen to share these treasures with the world and not keep them safely secreted away in your lovely brilliant mind.

    • I’m so glad you like the extras! I have an extremely hard time walking away from my characters. because I’ve always felt that their adventures continue even after the book is finished. I didn’t know if anyone else would like them–some people might find them disrupting–so I’m always delighted to hear when others enjoy them as well! πŸ˜€ Thank you for your loyalty in reading. As a fellow book lover, I know your compliments are a big honor, so thank you!

  16. So I was reading the Cinderella extra chapter and….can you wink with only one eye?! Idk why, but it just struck me at the end when Fred winked. I’ve been trying to figure out how you would know he wasn’t just slowly blinking or something. Ha!

    • I laughed for about five minutes after reading your comment. You are SO right! I hadn’t even thought about it! I’ll have to fix it, but thanks for the comment–I needed that belly-laugh!

    • Thankfully, I have good news to share! I got it back from Editor #2 over the weekend, and I’ve already posted it back to Editor #1, so it’s guaranteed to be out before the end of the month. πŸ™‚

  17. I have read all of the Timeless Fairy Tales to date and just love them!!!!!!! There are times where ima really bust a gut laughing out loud while reading your books! Thankfully no one was around while reading book 5! Lol

Will we see more books in that series? And will those books include the big war that was spoken about in earlier books? Some of our extras spoke about the war between evil magic users and the rest of the continent, just wondering if we will get to see exactly how that played out and what happened to Angelique’s Master! Lol

    • Hi Jennifer! Yes, you’ll get to see more of the Timeless Fairy Tales! I’m working on the next one–Swan Lake–right now! There will be a final book–Angelique will be the main character–that will provide the series wrap up with the war. πŸ™‚

Thank you for reading my stories, I’m so glad they’ve made you laugh!

  18. Thank you Kitty for the quick reply! And I have to say I am soooooo impressed with how clean your books are!!!!!!! I am so sick of the cussing and sex on what is supposed to be YA books these days! It is very refreshing to see an author who is doing well with making clean stories!!!!!! I am going to read the rest of your books now too!

And can’t wait for more Timeless Fairy Tales!!!!!

    • I’m glad you enjoy the clean content of my writing! (It’s extremely important to me, so I’m always glad to hear when readers specifically enjoyed that aspect.)

I think sometimes people mistakenly think you can’t have a funny story or a great plot if you don’t have “edgy” content, but the trick is that it’s all in the characters.

      • Yes, the characters and the story they live. That’s why my mother and I have put you right up there with Lynn Kurland. Personally, I’m tired of wasting half a book flipping past junk I don’t want to read. Thank you!

      • I hadn’t heard of Lynn Kurland before, so thank you for that tip–I checked out her Amazon page and she has quite a few books so hooray for new reading material! Reading aside, thank you for the compliment! πŸ™‚ I’m glad you also enjoy the characters and their story–they’re so much fun to work with!

      • I also want to thank you for the clean content. It’s so hard to find a book with any kind of love story that’s not full of sex. I especially loved Cinderella’s response to Friedrich’s wish to kiss her. I wish more girls (and women) would realize how important purity is.

      • I’m so glad you enjoy it! I try to write the kinds of stories that I love, so it’s always so much fun to meet someone else with similar reading tastes!

I modeled Cinderella the way I did because I’ve noticed a lack of that kind of conduct in books recently. (Well, and also because it was so funny to see Fred trying his darnest, and FAILING! Muwahaha!)

    • Yes, yes, yes!!! The clean content is tops on my list too! I love “princess” books the way some girls love chocolate or going to the mall: princess books just make me happy – especially when I’m stressed. I was so glad to find your wonderful, funny, exciting, CLEAN princess books, because when I am stressed, all that junk that’s so common in YA now just makes it worse. ThankYouThankYouThankYou!

      • I have a bit of a thing–okay a BIG thing–for princess books, too! That’s probably why I love writing fairy tales, and I’m a big fan of “classic” stories. πŸ˜€ And thank YOU for reading!

  19. I found your books through kindle unlimited and loved them so much I bought 2. But I was curious, I know how kindle unlimited works on my end (9.99/month for all the eligible titles I can read), but what do the authors get for allowing their publications to be part of this program?

    • Hi Tabby! Authors get paid per pages read. πŸ™‚ It changes every month so it can be a bit scary, but for every “page” as defined by Amazon (So it’s not for every page swipe of your kindle) we authors are compensated. As it’s per page is a really small compensation–we’re talking less than half a penny–but adds up!

  20. Thank you so much for the Freebies. They were fun to read.
One thing to note is that the Freebie “Alternate Scene: Arrivals: PDF File” is the same download like Mages from the Snow Queen Freebies.

I wait with much hope that the sequel for the “Life Reader” will come next year. This was my favorite book so far.

Thanks for the fun and enjoyment i had with reading your books. πŸ˜‰

    • YIKES! I’ll go get that changed now! Thanks for letting me know–also I’m glad you’ve enjoyed all the freebies! πŸ™‚

  21. Hi! I love your Timeless Fairytales series, and The Wild Swans was my favorite! I was wondering if you will be doing any freebies for it? I know it has the different endings, so maybe one freebie for Rune and one for Falk? I would really love to revisit those characters. πŸ™‚

    • I’m so glad you liked the Wild Swans! I loved writing all the brother-interactions in that story, the Arcainian princes are too sassy!

I don’t have any plans for a Wild Swans freebie right now, but before the series ends you’ll get one. πŸ™‚

    • Yes! In December I’ll be releasing a Snow Queen anthology that will contain all the extras and one lengthy story that will focus on Rakel and Phile. πŸ˜‰ It will be so much fun to make Phile squirm!

      • That is the best idea ever. Phile is one of your characters that I feel giddy reading. She doesn’t quite fit in any box. Like she isn’t just heartfelt or strong or witty or comedic relief: she is all of them. I don’t know how you do it, but you write some of the best character interactions ever, and that’s what keeps me reading and needing to read more than just Snow Queen and Timeless Fairy Tales. So thank you for your dedication to your characters and your fans!

      • I’m glad you’re excited about it–and I completely agree with your observations about Phile. I didn’t want her to be a sterotypical BFF for Rakel–the friends are often pushed aside when powerful characters like Rakel are the focus of the story–so she was a very important character to me. (That, and she’s an absolute riot to write! I can’t wait for her and Rakel’s adventure! Buwahaha!)

  22. So, I was just rereading the my career mbrc freebie and I noticed that instead of using his Aunt _____ to get Aysel to leave his and Morgan’s shared office, Devin instead used the “someones hitting on you wife” excuse and had a mini -squeel fest. I can’t wait to meet the woman that Aysel ends up with!

    • I was wondering if anyone would notice that switch I made. πŸ˜€ Very sharp eye! (I do hope you’ll like Aysel’s gal. She seems like she’s going to be SO much fun!)

    • There’s actually a new King Arthur’s and her Knights freebie that is available exclusively in my K. M. Shea starter pack–which you get by signing up for my newsletter! (The sign up is the first block in my sidebar on the right.) Otherwise, sadly you’ll have to wait until the next King Arthur book. 😦 It’s really hard for me to jump from world to world remember characters/plots/events, so I only write freebies when I’m actively working on that particular world. I won’t be working on King Arthurs until this summer, when I hopefully write the final volume in the series. πŸ™‚

  23. Would you please write at least one short story for the Wild Swans?if you have the timeline? It is my favorite of the Timeless fairy tales! I can’t wait for your next book!

      • I don’t know if I’ll be able to do a Wild Swans solo freebie, but–as you might have guessed from the way its glossed over in Swan Lake–I do have plans to write a few more extras about the summit. As Elise is attending with a few other Wild Swan characters, you’ll get to see them again! πŸ™‚

  24. I have really enjoyed reading all of your books. Especially the Timeless Fairy tales of which Rumpelstiltskin is one of my favorites. There is only one short story with it and I was wondering if you would be writing any more? Thank you for writing all of the short stories! It is really fun to read more about all of the characters especially the interactions between characters of different books.

    • Hi Lauren! Gemma and Stil actually appear in quite a few other shorts (Two from the Snow Queen, and another one in which Gemma meets Elle and is sent to go fetch Dylan and Callan.) You will absolutely see more of her as I fill in what happens at the summit. She’ll drag Dylan to the Summit, and you’ll get to see her interact with the other girls as well!

  25. I was wondering if you were going to do another story about Rakel or Phile? I would love to know how they started the magic school, how the snow queen led the whole continent or not be scared of magic, who Phile ended up with, etc. I absolutely loved the snow queen and was sad to see it end with so much potential for another spin off series. Thank you for your wonderful writing!

    • I agree! I was also hoping to see another full length story about what happens when Rakel starts the school and how the continent reacts to her. Also, about how the evil magic users respond.

And what is up with the mirror? I know it can’t be hidden forever, as it is part of snow white’s story. Will you be re-telling that one as well?

I hope that you have many more tales to spin for us in this wonderful universe you have created for everyone!!!! I am all caught up with all of your series, except for King author, I will be reading that next, but wanted to hold off until the final book is released, since I binge read your books. Lol and some I have read more than once already!

      • And, as I mentioned in my comment to Amanda, thank you Jennifer for adding in your thoughts! I thought once the “war” was over no one would be interested in Rakel’s story, so it was thought-provoking (and fun!) to read your comment as well.

And yes, the mirror will be eventually, and there will be a retelling of Snow White. (I’m REALLY looking forward to that story as it’s also a fairy tale that will let us get to know a lot more about Angelique!)

Also…good plan to hold off on King Arthurs! πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks for your comment, Amanda! I thought readers would dislike a fairy tale that lasted more than a book or two, which is why I tried to wrap it up like I did. I’ve been genuinely surprised by the number of Champions and readers who have voiced an interest in seeing additional books or a spin off series about Phile, so I will admit my plans are now pretty up in the air! πŸ™‚ I want to finish the King Arthurs series–those poor readers have been hanging for almost a year–but after that, I’ll have to deeply consider my next move. So, thank you for your feedback!

  26. You never really made it clear why the soldier (Alief?) tried to kill Rakel. I would like a freebie explaining his reasons, how he was approached, and what happened to him after. He goes from being very friendly to her, to trying to kill her for no apparent reason, to disappearing without a trace. Which doesn’t make sense from Rakels standpoint either, because she was too paranoid at that point to not want to know if he was still around and in a position to hurt her.

    • Ahh yes, I actually had several long conversations about this with Myrrhlynn. Originally I was going to write a short story to release with Heart of Ice that covered it, but I had too many other things I wanted to cover, and the same happened with Sacrifice’s extras. I /will/ cover it, I’m just not certain when. (My book plans for the Snow Queen universe/books are in a bit of an upheaval, so I can’t tell you how it will appear, but I do feel comfortable telling you it will get resolved!)

  27. I know that you said once that there would be a sequel for Life Reader, any idea of when that might come out?
